| portable usb applications i use-RunitI have my usb stick autostart with this nice standalone launcher so i can easly acsess my docs and apps from my usb stick. from the site: http://magister-lex.at/RUNit/ now for how i get it to start with my usb stick make a text file called autorun.txt. now copy and paste the lines between the dotted lines to the text file save it and rename it to autorun.inf . --------------------------------------------- [autorun] open=launch.bat ACTION = Launch portable workspace --------------------------------------------- you can call it what you want just make sure there is a space befor and after the equals sign. now rename autorun.txt to autorun.inf now make a text file called launch.txt . i am just going to start runit.exe because from there i can bring up what ever i want from my stick. the line will look like this. start \runit.exe\ make sure there is a space after the word start. Do not specifie a drive letter because that will change from computer to computer. just give it the back slashes like you see. you can start as as many apps as you want. just start a new line like above. now rename the launch.txt to launch.bat the next time you plug in your stick, and it asks you what you want to do the first option will be "launch portable work space". I have my runit hide untill i right click the bottom of the screen. It's a beautifull thing. | | |
| GophoriaFrom the website: "gophoria can be an enormously helpful tool in speeding up research tasks...
You can: Highlight text and right click hover over a link and right click hover over an image and right click
to launch "gophoria search" from the context menu.
The text that you highlighted will now be found in the gophoria search window. You can choose to search using Google, Dictionary, or Thesaurus.
After the inset browser loads, you can then search ebay or amazon. By entering either ebay or amazon through gophoria before searching, bidding, or purchasing, you help gophoria stay free (no popups, no banners, no spam, no donations, just good clean clickin' fun).
If the highlighted text was a web address, you can effortlessly open a new window with that URL location.
If it was an image that you had selected, the new window will provide the image, alone, in a new window. (great for viewing image splices)" http://www.gophoria.com/

| Pandora (web site)I guess i will have to update my interests because i love music. I also like to explore new music similar to the music i like, and to do this i go to Pandora(a flash oriented site) where i can make music stations using songs and or artists. I set up the station, and they play music similar to the song or artist for my approval or disproval. I could go on, but i like to make my blogs short, and to the point. http://pandora.com/ Now let's take it a step further. You can make your Pandora stations mobile with a nifty simple program called Pyrrha. You run it, sign in as you would at Pandor, select one of your stations, and tell it if you want one, three, or five hours on the mp3 it will produce on your desktop. it will put an mp3, and a .pls playlist on your desktop. you have to close and restart the program to do it again.. http://pyrcast.com/ You can email your stations to friends take a look at my Yello station. http://www.pandora.com/?sc=sh149267469506107797 I use River Past http://www.riverpast.com/en/prod/waveatmp3/index.php to convert the mp3 to wave, and Audiograbber http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/ to break it down to mp3 song tracks. Both are freeware. If any one knows of a program to brake up the songs from the mp3 file in one shot please let me know. | | |
